Roseanne Varner
President And Chief Executive Officer

Prior to joining Aragon Surgical, Inc., Ms. Varner served as President and CEO of Aspire Medical where she continued the product development and clinical trials for the Advance system, a new treatment for sleep apnea. Prior to Aspire Medical she served as Founder/CEO of Atherotech, where she transformed the company into the leader in the expanded cholesterol testing market. Prior to joining Atherotech, she was president and CEO of Gynecare, Inc., where she spearheaded the company's growth and subsequent acquisition by Johnson & Johnson. Earlier, she served as CEO of Luxar Corporation, a privately held manufacturer of laser surgery tools for cosmetic, medical and dental applications, where she positioned the company for an acquisition by ESC Medical. Her prior experience also includes several senior management positions with Medtronic, I-Flow Corporation, Applied Plastics and American Hospital Supply. Ms. Varner holds a B.S. degree from Ohio State University and an M.S. degree in systems management from the University of Southern California.


Christine Cunningham
Vice President, Marketing & Business Development

Christine brings to Aragon Surgical more than 20 years of experience in international and domestic marketing, sales, and business development, both in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Her extensive medical device experience includes both diagnostics and therapeutics.

Christine began her career as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Sanofi Winthrop Pharmaceuticals before joining Syntex Pharmaceuticals in a marketing capacity. At the same time, she earned her M.B.A. Christine subsequently transitioned to the medical device arena, joining MedaSonics, Inc. and advancing to Vice President of Sales & Marketing. She subsequently joined Nellcor, Inc., entering as Market Development Manager and then receiving promotion to Director of Strategy and Business Development and ultimately serving as Senior Director of Marketing for Nellcor’s entire pulse oximetry business. Following Nellcor’s acquisition by Tyco Healthcare, Christine joined Novasys Medical, Inc., where for four years she served as Vice President of Marketing and guided the company from early market development through product launch. She then joined newly funded Aragon Surgical, Inc., where she serves as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.

In addition to her work, Christine recently served two terms as President of the non-profit Professional Women’s Healthcare Alliance (PWHA) and is currently on their board. She continues to teach marketing at the University of Phoenix.


Joseph Eder
Vice President, Research & Development

Joe brings to Aragon Surgical greater than 15 years of both start-up and large corporation experience in the medical device industry. His expertise includes all aspects of medical device research and development, including the creation and maintenance of intellectual property and negotiation of U.S. FDA regulatory processes.

A creative engineer with tremendous ability to multi-task, Joe was hired as Director of Research and Development at Target Therapeutics. His leadership skills and commitment to educating and mentoring engineers in his department led to Joe’s promotion to Vice President of Research and Development. In this senior leadership position, Joe excelled as he helped guide Target Therapeutics through acquisition by Boston Scientific, Inc., where he remained for an extended period, gaining additional experience and knowledge from the large device company perspective.

At Aragon Surgical, Joe was the first to evaluate the company’s founding patents and potential technology. Today, Joe continues to lead the Aragon Surgical engineering team in the development of the company’s proprietary mechanical and electrical medical device technology while also participating in numerous and varied strategic business processes.


Alan Curtis
Vice President, Regulatory, Quality, & Clinical Affairs

Alan brings to Aragon Surgical greater than 25 years of experience in the medical device industry, specifically in regulatory, quality, and clinical affairs. Having received his Regulatory Affairs Certification, Alan has worked at several medical device start-ups developing a variety of medical products. He has served as Quality Manager at Endosonics, Manager of Quality Systems at Aesculap, Director of Regulatory, Quality, and Clinical Affairs at Heraeus, and Vice President of Regulatory, Quality, and Clinical Affairs at SurX.

Alan’s expertise includes all aspects and types of U.S. and foreign regulatory filings, the development of rigorous quality systems, and the implementation of both simple and complex pre-clinical and clinical trials to support regulatory and marketing needs. A superb educator and mentor, Alan has now brought his considerable talent to Aragon Surgical, where he oversees the creation and maintenance of the company’s growing quality system, the development and implementation of the regulatory strategy and processes, and the creation and performance of pre-clinical and clinical trials.


Robert Mcculloch
Mcculloch & Associates
Executive Level Financial and Strategic Advice

Robert has over 25 years of strategic, finance, business development, administrative and operations experience in rapid growth life science and high-technology organizations, ranging from pre-IPO start-ups to large-scale public companies. Before establishing McCulloch & Associates in 2006, Robert held the CFO and various senior-level posts at Silicon Valley companies including Epocrates, CardioVention, Somnus Medical Technologies, Target Therapeutics and Anthem Electronics. Robert’s background is also complemented by eight-year tenure with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants. Robert holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Rhodes University. In addition, Robert sits on the Board of Directors at DARTdevices, Inc., a privately held company.
